Located at the top of the grand stairway in the historic main house and named for Joseph E. Davis — the early pioneer and patriarchal brother to President Jefferson Davis. This wealthy planter who made Anchuca his last home died at Anchuca on September 18, 1870, at the age of 87. With 12-foot ceilings, period antiques, and lavishly decorated windows, this room provides a sense of what the words master suite are all about. Enjoy a stunning view of Anchuca’s swimming pool and beautifully manicured grounds below. Don’t miss an up-close view from your second floor, private windows of Vicksburg’s oldest columns on the front of Anchuca.
Guests are provided a luxury queen-sized bed, private bathroom with a tub/shower combination, luxury bathrobes, toiletries, hair dryer, mini refrigerator, K-cup coffee maker, mini bar, charging station, high speed WIFI, Roku Smart TV, iron and ironing board, individual thermostat control, priority reservations to our onsite restaurant, and a complimentary Southern-style breakfast followed by an informative orientation video and self-guided house tour.
Optional connecting access to Eliza’s Room (Room 3) is available. A twin rollaway bed is also available for this room for an additional $40. Pets are not allowed inside of the main house but are welcomed in all carriage house rooms.

Does Anchuca have private parking for guests?
Yes! Anchuca offers a small parking area that provides eight off-street parking spaces for guests on a first-come, first-served basis. Additional guest parking is available on First East Street, Adams Street, and Cherry Street.
For added peace of mind, our private and public parking areas all feature LED security lighting and high-definition security cameras.

Early check-ins are not always possible: as an AAA “Inspected Clean” property, our team follows strict guidelines so our cleaning protocols will continue to be scientifically validated as effective by trained and unannounced AAA inspectors.
