Located at the top of the grand stairway in the historic main house and named for Joseph E. Davis — the early pioneer and patriarchal brother to President Jefferson Davis. This wealthy planter who made Anchuca his last home died at Anchuca on September 18, 1870, at the age of 87. With 12-foot ceilings, period antiques, and lavishly decorated windows, this room provides a sense of what the words master suite are all about. Enjoy a stunning view of Anchuca’s swimming pool and beautifully manicured grounds below. Don’t miss an up-close view from your second floor, private windows of Vicksburg’s oldest columns on the front of Anchuca.

Optional connecting access to Eliza’s Room (Room 3) is available. A twin rollaway bed is also available for this room for an additional $40. Pets are not allowed inside of the main house but are welcomed in all carriage house rooms.
